Here's my story

A creative soul, I enjoy several outlets for my ideas: wood carving, craft painting, cooking and writing.
Having a creative soul may be what led me to my career choice, computer software design and coding. No not games, I've spent my career with a Fortune 500 company.

Having a creative soul may be what led me to my career choice, computer software design and coding. No not games, I've spent my career with a Fortune 500 company.
And for a while, that fulfilled my creative needs, but as my job shifted from hands on to a leadership role, I found the need to explore new outlets. Having written short stories and novellas in my youth, I ventured into new areas; novels and picture books.
Once I could put pencil to paper (actually it probably started with crayons), I would draw my stories. Okay, I would draw a picture that I imagined told a story. I guess you could say I truly believed that picture was worth a 1000 words.

As the years passed, I found my writing interests often shifted across platforms. Starting with bad poetry and short plays, I transitioned to short stories and novellas. Entering college, I found free form prose, which allowed me an escape, a way to verbalize my thoughts and feelings without constraint. Now as my career role has shifted, my creativity has led me into venturing into full length novels and children's picture books.
Spurts of inspiration.
I wish I could say I'm disciplined enough to make myself sit down for an hour or so each day and focus on my writing, but I've always been more of a spur of the moment type of person, so I often find I get inspired at random times.
This can be a real issue when I'm driving or using the restroom, it's hard to steer while making notes or to write on toilet paper.

I will do my best to get back to you soon!
